What we do
The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington works to inspire and enable youth in the community, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, healthy, responsible, and caring citizens. Our trained and professional staff serves more than 250 youth every day. Our programs focus on helping kids succeed in school, live healthier lives, and become tomorrow's leaders.
The Club's programs cover three core areas: Arts and Technology, Health and Athletics, and Career Readiness and Life Skills. Young people who join the Club receive the benefits of experiencing supportive relationships with caring, responsible adults while taking part in a variety of life-enhancing programs.
We promote healthy development in the youth we serve by helping them build:
-
A sense of competence – the knowledge that there is something that they excel at
-
A sense of service – the experience of doing something valuable for others
-
A sense of belonging – knowing that they fit in and are accepted
-
A sense of power – the chance to be heard and to influence decisions affecting their lives
We are a chartered, independent member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America network.
