Chill Teams Up With Burlington Boys & Girls Club Off Snow to Raise Money for Local Youth

For the second year in a row, Chill is partnering up with the Burlington Boys & Girls Club to host the 2nd Annual Chill 3-on-3 Charity Classic Basketball Tournament. Over the past few years, Chill has established a solid partnership with the Boys & Girls Club; bringing the opportunity to snowboard to underserved youth in the Burlington community. Chill is stoked to continue this partnership by connecting off the snow to put on this community event. Proceeds from the basketball fundraiser directly benefit Chill, The Burlington Boys & Girls Club and The Burlington Park and Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund.

Kentucky Derby Gala

The annual Kentucky Derby Gala was held May 1, 2010 at the Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Jct., Vermont. Over 250 people in attendance enjoyed cocktails, mocktails, an excellent dinner, live and silent auctions and dancing. All donations were to benefit a most worthy cause: The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, VT.

We cannot adequately thank the volunteer event committee, led by Kathy Schirling of the Chittenden Bank, also our presentation sponsor. The events is a one-of-a kind , and you folks are amazing! Thank you to ALL the volunteers - servers, photographers, Board members - Club staff, the performing kids, and all of the hundreds of donors, bidders and attendees. It was grand! On behalf of the children served by The Club, thank you!

Boys & Girls Club of Burlington Receives Generous Donation from Perrywinkle’s Fine Jewelry

On Friday, February 5th 2010 Perrywinkle’s Fine Jewelry hosted an Auction to benefit the children served by the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington. It was a fun-filled evening of fine wine, hors d’oeurves and a fine jewelry auction led by Burlington celebrity Tim Kavanaugh. Twenty percent of all proceeds from the auction and sales went directly to the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington. On Thursday, February 18, Perrywinkle’s manager Winklette Taylor, and owner Perry Sporn presented the Club with a check for $9,000. The club would also like to acknowledge Club Board member Nancy Jenkins of Prudential Realty for spearheading this event and the donations from Lets Pretend Catering, and The Vermont Wine Merchants.

4th Annual ONE Fashion Event Over-the-Top Successful!

Thanks to all for making the 4th Annual ONE Fashion Event a HUUUUUUGE success! Just four years ago, we were thrilled with the fact that we had come up with a great event that seemed to attract people out of their houses in the middle of January. That first year, we filled the smaller room with about 150 people and made nearly $20,000… three short years later, thanks in large part to devoted volunteers, donors, business owners and new friends, we packed Higher Ground with nearly 400 plus people, raising over $40,000!

Whether you were in the crowd watching or strutting the runway - I hope you all had a fun night and more importantly, I hope you have a sense of how important the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington is to so many kids in our community. If you were not, there, you have next year! Thank you again for the generous participation and support!
